The University has an innovative Employability Development Programme, Glam Edge, that formally provides students with the opportunity to develop a distinctive ‘edge’ and enables our students to document, appreciate and then utilise the skills acquired across a broad range of activities. We work very closely with employers to develop our students. Activities include work-based projects, work placements, work shadowing, enterprise initiatives, voluntary work, part-time jobs. In short, we aim to make our graduates not just ready for the workplace, but also ready for a successful future career.
University of Glamorgan graduates enjoy an impressive employment rate that is well above the UK average, with 94%* of our graduates in employment or further study six months after course completion. To develop this success further, we wish to partner with market leaders and top employers to shape the Glam Edge programme and offer our students first-class professional experiences. Glam Edge employer partners will be invited to contribute to course design, become involved in seminar delivery or mentoring, or to act as a specific market ‘adviser’.
Glam Edge isn’t just valuable for our students – by becoming involved in this way, it is hoped you will identify talent you may want to recruit ahead of the competition. Plus, through our Commercial Services Office, the University of Glamorgan offers a wide range of additional expertise through research, consultancy, knowledge transfer partnerships and professional training for your organisation. We deliver a flexible, client-led professional approach to identify your specific needs; we then draw together expertise from across the University that addresses particular business needs, interests or plans for up-skilling.
